This 8 inch terrestrial globe is presented on an oak stand finished in a green/grey from Farrow & Ball, and has been lightly distressed.
The brothers started as apprentices for Scottish globemaker James Kirkwood, but after a fire at his workshop they set up on their own. They became very popular in America and sold widely for a number of years, often sold by other companies such as Rand McNally and Webber Costello.
They became one of the largest suppliers of school globes in the U.S.
It stands at 42cms.
