A Newton Pocket globe with damage to the polar regions and crush damage to the case.
Horizon ring within the case was badly damaged and large parts were missing
The ring was rebuilt from mahogany and a new paper applied with artwork produced using existing fragments as templates
old varnish is removed, cracks filled , and repaired sections hand painted.
A new clasp was produced using using two existing clasps as a template and fastened to the case. The case was then re-lacquered and the globe was then polished
The globe is striped of its dis-coloured varnish and damaged plaster sections filled and sanded smooth.
Any missing map sections are replaced and re-lacquered. New map sections were produced using fragments as a template
