This 12 inch table globe is presented on a turned wooden stand finished with an off white paint from Farrow and Ball. The globe sits within a polished stainless steel meridian ring. It stands at 57cms. Dien was a Parisian astronomer and globemaker at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th. He regularly collaborated with Felix Delmarche in the construction of globes and was a noted author of books and manuals offering aid in the use of scientific equipment.
