LANDER & MAY MAKE THE SHORTLIST FOR ARTISAN OF THE YEAR
We were absolutely thrilled to be nominated for the Country Living Magazine Best UK Artisan Award in November.
This wonderful initiative is judged by the editorial team, with Dame Emma Bridgewater as patron and fellow judge. We were up against stiff competition from a selection of amazing makers from all over the country, and attended a champagne reception at London's Business Design Centre. We may not have won the ultimate first prize, but we were shortlisted, and are still reeling from the recognition we received as a result. We are very proud of our craft credentials - our authentic making methods are what set us apart from mainstream commercial globe making. We source all our components from within the UK, using a local woodturner to make our stands. Our globe spheres are individually made, by hand, by Chris, using the original globe making techniques of papier mache and plaster. This is why we feature on the Heritage Crafts Red List of endangered traditional crafts. It was great to be appreciated by the Country Living Team, and to be part of the huge craft family they champion. |

We were very pleased to be featured in James Snowden's wonderful blog The New Victorian Ruralist.
He has an amazing emporium in Kentucky called Finders Keepers Market, and is an inspired and talented curator of beautiful things.
