Modern globes on hardwood base
These beautifully accessible table top globes are for those who love the aesthetic of a handmade globe but don't want it to dominate the space. The design is quietly and timelessly elegant, retaining the traditional expectation of a globe. Available in three different sizes, 10, 13 and 15" diameter, they sit on compact, turned hardwood bases, incorporating three embedded bearings. This enables the globes to be spun multi-directionally at the lightest touch of the hand. The stands can be made from any available and responsibly sourced hardwood. As always, the globe itself is made in the traditional artisanal way - using plaster, with hand applied map 'gores' from our extensive cartographic library. It is a totally up to date map, with comprehensive place data, including the latest name and border changes.
